"Your destined partner is… lo and behold"The mechanical voice said.

Robin watched as the spotlights continued to shine onto her allies. After what seemed like an eternity, the lights had finally focused on one particular Smasher. As it did so, loud cheering could be heard.

Shulk’s eyes widened as he stepped back.

“W-Wait? Me!?” He exclaimed. He then shifted his eyes from left to right. “B-But I can’t date her! I kinda already haveeeeeeeee!”

That was the sound of Shulk after he and Robin fell through a trap door each, dropping them below.

After falling through the trap door, Robin and Shulk had soon hit the bottom with a loud thud, blacking out instantly. It wasn't until a few minutes later that they had soon came to. The two groaned before sitting up.

“Ooh… I landed on my Monado…” Shulk groaned while holding his back.

"Shulk, are you okay?" Robin weakly asked.

“Yeah…” The blonde man reassured. “Still, carrying a large sword on your back all of the time could easily turn against you.”

The two then slowly made their way to their feet. It was then the two of them had quickly realized something really important. They were holding hands.

“Um, Robin? Is there something wrong?” Shulk asked.

The white-haired woman gasped. “Oh, I am sorry! I didn’t even knew we were holding hands!”

She then tried to let go of Shulk's hand. However, after a bit of pulling, the two had quickly noticed they were unable to take their hands apart.

“W-What? Our hands are literally stuck together!” Shulk exclaimed. “What is going on?”

"It seems that you had reached your destination." The mechanical voice from earlier spoke.

“Oh, it’s that voice again!” Shulk gasped. He then narrowed his eyes. “Alright, what is the meaning of this?”

This seems to be a path where lovers who met their destined partners discuss their love for each other." The mechanical voice pointed out.

It was then Robin and Shulk had finally took the chance to look around the area they had been dropped in. They seemed to be on a path in a beautiful meadow that had flowers everywhere. Looking up at the sky, it was a bright blue with a few clouds and even a rainbow. It was just like the fairytale version of heaven.

"What could be waiting up ahead?" The mechanical voice asked. "You are free to step forth hand-in-hand, curiosity and fear in your hearts, or you can refrain."

“I sort of figured that you were the one that somehow got our hands stuck together.” Shulk said, sternly.

"You are free to step forth, or refrain from doing so." The mechanical voice explained. "These are your apparent options. Now step forth!"

“Hey! Wait! What is going on?” Shulk called out. However, he got no answer. “Great. Now we are stuck here.”

“Yes, and we are all alone…” Robin noted, grimly.

“Looks like it.” Shulk said while looking around. “What makes things worse. Not only are our hands stuck together but we seemed to be in an open field. If we run into at least one of those enemies, we would be doomed.”

Robin sighed while shaking her head. “Agreed. With our hands like this, we can’t use our weapons.”

Her eyes then lit up before looking at Shulk.

“Well, it seems like we have no other option but to put your fate in your visions.” Robin explained.

Shulk frowned. “Um, I don’t think that is a good idea, Robin, because…”

“Because you can’t exactly abuse your visions too much because if you do, it would be harder to predict hard blows.” Robin noted. “I know and it is beyond reckless but we have no other options for battles at the moment.”

“True…” Shulk sighed before looking around. “Then again, we could also take advantage of the open field. If we keep our eyes out, we could spot our enemies before they could spot us.”

Robin nodded her head. “Right. I am so glad that my “destined partner” is very cool-headed. I could imagine nearly half of the Smashers freaking out if they were in my position.”

“And I don’t blame them.” Shulk said, scratching the back of his head. “But losing our cool won’t help us one bit. We have to keep calm and think of a plan.”

“Right. Speaking of which, I was thinking of going down this path.” Robin suggested.

“Yeah, same here. I mean it is not like we have a choice.” Shulk shrugged. “If we stray from said path, we might get up wandering around aimlessly.”

“Agreed. We have to take this path and hope that it would lead us to our friends first before we run into those monsters.” Robin nodded.

The two then made their way down the path, hand-in-hand. They had walked on for five minutes before a certain voice had decided to make themselves known.

"Suddenly, all in attendance hear an announcement."

“Oh, it’s you again!” Shulk gasped. He then gave a deep sigh. “Alright. What do you want now?”

"Up ahead, they see a bride and groom's joyous commemorative photograph of love." The mechanical voice explained.

The two then looked ahead at their path and just as the voice said, there seemed to be some kind of large picture with roses all over the frame.

"They confer between them whether to look at it, or ignore it." The mechanical voice said.

“Hm? What is he hoping to accomplish?” Shulk asked with a raised eyebrow. “In any case, I fail to see the harm is looking at it. If it is a trap, it is a pretty random one.”

With that, the two had made their way over to the picture to inspect it. However, their eyes had bugged out when they saw the picture was of a white-clad prince that was holding a woman in a wedding dress, bridal-style. Clearly a wedding photo.

But what really caught their attention was that the groom's head was Shulk's and the bride's head was Robin's.

“I-I… Oh wow…” Shulk sputtered. “I don’t know how to react.”

“Yeah, seriously…” Robin winced. She then looked over the picture. “Good news, Shulk. You may not have to react at all. I think this picture is fake.”

“Yeah, our faces looked way off when compared to the rest of the picture.” Shulk nodded. He then lowered his head with a blush. “Still, it doesn’t exactly make this any less… Awkward.”

“Agreed. That guy is really going all-out with the “destined partner” thing, huh?” Robin said with a weak chuckle.

Shulk sighed as he shook his head. “Yeah, I wasn’t going to say anything but as long as we are stuck together, could you answer one question?”

“But of course, Shulk! What is it?” Robin reassured.

The swordsman let in a deep breath. “Why did you agreed to this?”

“Hm?” Robin asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Why did you agreed to this quiz?” Shulk asked. “Weren’t you were in a war to STOP a bad future? Wouldn’t going along with this clash with your goal?”

Robin paused before shrugging. “Honestly, I was curious. Not because who my destined partner is but rather how that voice would decide who it is. I can’t give a clear answer but there is something about this voice’s psyche that interests me.”

She then winced as she looked back at the picture.

“But obviously, I got a little too close into his psyche than I would had liked.” Robin said.

Shulk chuckled. “Yeah. I get it. I am the same. As a weapons-engineer, I have to study every single bit of material to design new weapons. I am blown away by the amount of weapons that people uses. Like your Levin Sword. I never saw a sword that could emit electricity, even if it is only for a certain amount of times.”

“Well, the Monado is certainly no slouch itself.” Robin smiled. “Not only is it a strong weapon but to have the ability to see the future and stop tragedies before it could happen. You don’t know how many people would do for a weapon like that.”

Shulk chuckled weakly. “Oh, you have no idea how important the Monado is…”

Robin raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”

Shulk turned towards Robin. “Robin, what if I told you that the Monado used to be holding in a god-like deity inside of it?”

The tactician jumped for a moment. “Wait, it is? I knew it was powerful but still… To hold a deity inside.”

“Yes… However, despite the light says otherwise, it was far from a benevolent god.” Shulk frowned. “It tried to destroy the world.”

Robin gasped at this. “What!?”

“Yes… But with the help of the goddess of Mechonis, me and my friends were able to defeat it.” Shulk reassured.

“Wow… That sword is more than just a weapon.” Robin said in awe. “To think that you yourself have so much responsibility over it.”

Shulk nodded his head. “Despite the hardships the Monado had gave me, I am still grateful for it. If not, a lot of my good friends would had died.”

“I agreed. I had seen a few people died at the hands of the war…” Robin said, softly. “That is why I have to use every bit of my skill as a tactician to make sure that nobody dies.”

Shulk paused for a moment. He then nodded his head. “I am sure that you are doing a good job.”

Robin smiled and nodded. “Thanks, Shulk.”

The two then continued down the path while passing the picture and admired the lovely scenery in front of them. They had walked on for another five minutes, wondering how long was this path went on.

“Say, Shulk.” Robin piped up.

“Yes, Robin?” The blonde youth asked.

“Don’t you feel… Uncomfortable when we are stuck like this?” The white-haired woman asked.

“Um, yes. Yes, I do. Don’t you?” Shulk asked.

“No. I mean... “ Robin said before pausing. “I mean… What if Fiona finds out about this?”

Shulk’s eyes bugged out with a deep red blush on his face. “OH! Um, I don’t think that should be a problem. I mean it is not like we are stuck like this forever. We just need to find that guy and try to undo… Whatever this is.”

“True… But said guy seems convinced that I am your “destined partner” so…” Robin frowned.

Shulk sighed while shaking his head. “Well, we just have to find the others and ask them to force the guy to release him. I can’t go back home to Fiona like this.”

“We can’t go home to ANYTHING period like this.” Robin corrected. “Incidentally, what is Fiona like?”

Shulk gave in a deep sigh. “Kind, cheerful, always tries keep a positive attitude no matter what she had been through. A true fighter through and through.”

“Heh. She totally reminds me of Lucina.” Robin noted.

“Yeah, I feel the same way here!” Shulk nodded. “I am sure that she, nay, everyone would love to hear all about the tournament. From the arenas I fought in to the fighters I had met and fought. Heck, I think I could spend an hour talking about the items!”

“Well, I would love to meet each and every one of them.” Robin smiled. “I mean any group that is able to change their bad future has my respect.”

“Thanks. I feel the same about you and your army.” Shulk explained. “I mean a good number of said party members had literally gone back in time to prevent what happened to them. That is some dedication. I feel… That our two groups are just fitted to encounter each other.”

Robin smiled and nodded her head. “Agreed. We all have the same goal in mind for our respective worlds.”

Shulk returned the smile. “...Change destiny. Now let’s go change the current one.”

“Right!” Robin nodded.

The two had continued their journey down their path that they had been on, ever since the start. After a few minutes, they had finally reached what they thought was their destination. A large, white church. It was then the mechanical voice spoke up.

"The long-awaited moment has come. The bride and groom are finally about to enter." The voice said. "The last moment of hesitation has arrived before you are to be wed."

“B-B-Bride and groom!” Shulk gasped. “Oh no! I knew that guy was obsessed with this whole “destined partner” thing but to think, he would go so far.”

"Through your own free will, you decide to vow eternal love to each other." The mechanical voice said.

“I refuse! This is ANYTHING but free will!” Shulk said, firmly.

"Now open the door together." The mechanical voice said.

Robin stared straight at the church doors intently. After a moment, she narrowed her eyes and used her free hand to open the door, shoving it open. Suddenly, "Here Comes The Bride" could be heard playing.

“R-R-Robin!? W-What are you doing!?” Shulk exclaimed. “Even though there is a good chance that man may be in here, we could still…”

Robin didn't just walked inside of the church while dragging in her destined partner inside. Then, the doors had slowly started to close behind them as the two slowly watched down the aisle.

"You must vow your unwavering love for one another, in sickness and in health." The mechanical voice said. "Now, vow your love!"

Robin was about to say something.

Suddenly, there was a large slam of the doors. The two turned around to see their fellow Smashers rushing towards them before they had started to pant heavily. It was then the two's hands had finally become unstuck.

“Robin! Shulk! What are you doing!?” Lucina demanded.

“Lucina!?” Robin gasped.

“How could you two of all people, be so passive about this?” The princess yelled. “There is no way a wedding like this is a valid one!”

Shulk winced before looking down. “S-Sorry, Lucina.”

“I should hope so! Now come over and let’s get out of here!” The blue-haired youth demanded. “I expected better from the both of you!”

“Yes, Lucina…” Robin said. “Hey, Shulk…”

“Yes, Robin?” The swordsman asked.

“Do Fiona…”

“Get as scary as this? Yes…”

It seems that the wedding has been called off…

Here is the next part of my Smashsona story. This week... Shulk! I am actually surprised that it took Shulk this long to get chosen. He had a lot of pairing stories with Robin and Lucina because of the whole "Screw Destiny" thing.

Ironically enough, this is probably the first chapter will the male doesn't hold up the female bridal-style... Heh. :/
